Perhaps you should check the first link in my post for the Conservative-published television spots. If you believe the propaganda it's Liberal bad, Conservative good.

Thanks for citing references and examples, though. Engaging argument. Turned me right around.

--edit--

The above comment really cheeses me off. My post makes it patently clear that I'm expressing my own opinion, and that I recognize the illegal and amoral transgressions of the Liberal party. Furthermore, I invite Canadians who are for or against our current government to express their feelings to the Prime Minister. Neutral, no?

Also note that in my new About Brian page I state that I pledge no allegiance to any political party, and while I tend to lean left I do agree with some conservative (if not Conservative) policies.

This does make me feel better about the situation in one way. It's still insulting to be subjected to this slander and it's still in very bad taste. My indignation stems from a lot more than this round of public mudslinging, as I mention in my post, but at least Harper has the common sense to blow his own funds rather than the country's.

Thanks very much for your comment and for setting me straight, Dana.

Your indignation seems to stem from your belief that your tax dollars are paying for the "Liberal Bashing Ads." They aren't. The Conservative Party is sitting on a pile of money -- they've had no trouble getting funds from like-minded Canadian individuals and corporations -- and it's spending the money now before being subject to election advertising rules. Not very pretty but, it's their money. Liberals are stil trying to pay past debts and the NDP coffers aren't over-flowing. Expect each to try to use the news media and householders / newsletters, blogs and websites to respond to the Conservative barrage.
